Membrane systems
Membrane systems are used in water treatment, wastewater treatment and the recovery and concentration of valuable components from process streams. By selecting the appropriate membrane technology, they enable the removal of contaminants, water recovery for reuse, concentration of valuable constituents and reduction of the volume of streams requiring further treatment or disposal.
ESMIL designs and supplies complete membrane systems tailored to the characteristics of the process stream and the specific process requirements. The choice of technology – from Reverse Osmosis (RO), Nanofiltration (NF), Ultrafiltration (UF), Superfiltration (SF), Electrodeionisation (EDI) and VSEP systems – depends on the properties of the feed stream and the required treatment objectives.
Membranes selectively separate suspended and dissolved substances from water, wastewater and process streams. Depending on the technology employed, they can remove suspended solids, microorganisms, organic compounds, dissolved salts and other dissolved substances, providing efficient treatment, water recovery and improved process performance.
