At the end of 2024, the Esmil Group successfully completed its largest project to date in Hungary.
As part of this project, 16 devices and 10 control cabinets were delivered to a new wastewater treatment plant in the city of Szikszó. The project was executed by Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies Magyarország Zrt.
Overview of the facility
The wastewater treatment plant is located in Szikszó, in the northern part of Hungary, and supports two key technological processes:
- treatment of municipal wastewater,
- treatment of industrial wastewater from facilities in the Szikszó industrial park.
The planned maximum capacity of the plant is 5280 m³/d, covering both municipal and industrial wastewater.
ESMIL equipment installed at the facility
As part of the project, the Esmil Group supplied and commissioned a range of equipment, including:
- Six Multi-Disc Screw Press Dehydrators MDQ-353 CL,
- Three Combined Mechanical Treatment Modules M-Comby 100,
- Six Screw Conveyors,
- One Screw Compacting Press.
MDQ Series Multi-Disc Screw Presses
Each dewatering press is equipped with its own control cabinet, ensuring safe and efficient operation, including remote management capabilities. MDQ presses are the largest multi-disc screw presses available on the market, designed for effective dewatering of municipal and industrial sludge.
Key advantages of ESMIL MDQ Multi-Disc Screw Presses:
- effective dewatering of complex sludge containing fats,
- high solids capture rate,
- energy efficiency,
- high level of automation,
- low operational costs.
Combined Mechanical Treatment Modules M-Comby
Each M-Comby unit is equipped with:
- fine screening,
- aerated grit chamber,
- an automatic grease collection and discharge system.
The devices operate fully automatically. Waste from the screens is transported by discharge conveyors and subsequently pressed in dewatering units, both produced by Esmil.
ESMIL Screw Conveyors
The total length of the installed conveyors is 32 meters. These conveyors are used for the transport and unloading of dewatered sludge.
Key features of Esmil screw conveyors:
- wide range of performance and applications,
- modular construction enabling various configurations,
- special inserts of high-hardness steel alloys used in the casing, allow transportation of abrasive materials,
- flexible installation: up to 30° for axisless and up to 45° for axial conveyors.
In addition to the previously mentioned equipment, the Esmil Group also supplied a conveyor, which was installed at one of the existing facilities of the treatment plant.
Currently, our team of specialists is fine-tuning the optimal operating modes to maximize the efficiency of the treatment plant and ensure seamless operation.
We are proud that Esmil equipment continues to earn the trust of customers worldwide and is gaining popularity globally as a leading choice for innovative wastewater solutions.
