Location: meat processing plant, Poland
Implementation date: March 2025
Applied technologies: Aeration system based on Ecorator Jr. aerators, equipped with a blower, control system, and necessary piping
Challenge
The treatment of wastewater generated during meat production requires the use of advanced and reliable technologies due to its specific characteristics. In this plant, the existing surface aerator, installed in the equalization tank, was used for aeration of post-production wastewater. However, this solution failed to provide adequate oxygenation and proper mixing within the tank, resulting in sludge putrefaction and deteriorating the quality of the wastewater sent to the subsequent stages of biological treatment.
Furthermore, surface aerators required regular maintenance, which made it challenging to ensure their stable and continuous operation. The frequent need to monitor the equipment’s condition, along with repairs and adjustments, led to increased operational costs.

Condition before modernization
Technological Solution: ESMIL Ecorator Jr. System
For the modernization, Ecorator Jr. aerators were implemented – an efficient solution designed to perform in challenging wastewater conditions. These units offer reliable, long-term operation with minimal supervision, while ensuring effective aeration and thorough, even mixing of the wastewater throughout the entire tank.
Key advantages of this system:
- Fine air bubbles generated by the Venturi structure enhance oxygen solubility in the liquid.
- The double-cylinder design allows for sludge suction and prevents its accumulation at the bottom.
- The ejector effect effectively eliminates dead zones in the tank.
The system works in conjunction with a high-performance blower (240–366 m³/h) and a central control panel, enabling optimization of the entire system’s operation.
Results of the modernization
Thanks to the implementation of the modern Ecorator Jr. aerators:
- Consistent aeration throughout the entire tank was achieved
- Sludge rotting and stagnation were eliminated
- The quality of wastewater before further treatment was improved
- The reliability and efficiency of the entire treatment process increased
- Maintenance costs were reduced – unlike the previous system, the new solution ensures stable, trouble-free operation and eliminates the need for frequent servicing
The modular arrangement of the Ecorator Jr. aerators allows for easy maintenance and stable system performance, even under varying hydraulic and organic conditions.

Summary
The modernization carried out by ESMIL is an excellent example of an effective enhancement to the wastewater treatment process in industrial facilities. By implementing modern ejector aerators, the client now has a system that operates autonomously, with no need for constant supervision or frequent repairs, significantly reducing operational and maintenance costs. Furthermore, the new aeration technology allowed for better control over the biological process, which ultimately contributed to improving the environmental standards of the facility.
