Modular wastewater treatment plants are an effective solution for industrial enterprises. They allow reducing capital costs for the construction of treatment facilities, but at the same time achieving the necessary MAC for wastewater discharge.
By order of a large Ukrainian dairy processing holding, the Esmil plant assembled unique treatment facilities for two enterprises that are part of the holding – a cheese factory and a butter-making plant. Both facilities are currently at the stage of commissioning. The wastewater treatment facilities include the following equipment:
- Mechanical treatment – ESMIL RMB TP 6/6 drum screen, which extracts the smallest mechanical particles;
- Physical and chemical treatment – ESMIL FT 25Z flotation unit with the possibility of outdoor operation (equipped with insulation and heating) and an improved reagent treatment system;
- Sludge dewatering – ESMIL Tsurumi MDQ 352 multi-disc screw press.
These complexes are highly effective in removing organic substances and fats from industrial wastewater. The capacity of each of the units is 1500 m3/day and they can perform treatment of water formed during tank washing processes and permeate formed as a result of serum nanofiltration processes.
Thanks to the modular design, the first stage of the technological scheme for wastewater treatment was launched immediately after installation. Fine adjustment of the technological process allowed achieving a reduction in COD by an average of 46-60%, and in suspended solids of up to 12-17 mg/l. The step-by-step method of project implementation made it possible to collect accurate data on the quality of pre-treated wastewater for a more detailed study of the next stage of biological treatment, which made it possible to avoid the risks associated with the inconsistency of the actual quality of wastewater with the calculated data.
One of the important advantages of modular container solutions for wastewater treatment is that the unit is completely assembled at the Esmil plant. Thanks to this, the installation and start-up process on the site is very fast and easy.
